Talented 4YO Animal Kingdom mare Killer Instinct picked up where she left off last preparation when winning first-up at Newcastle on Sunday. Following a trial last Tuesday, John sent Killer Instinct to the races 5 days later in a suitable Class 2 over 1400m. From barrier 4, she was able to settle on the fence in a mid-field position and work her way through the field. The staying bred mare knuckled down over the last 50m to win by 0.16L, defeating the Kim Waugh trained Calabasas and the well fancied runner Time Raid.

 

"That was a really good win" commented apprentice Billy Owen after the race. "She's in for a fantastic preparation over alot further distances.
