Quantico displayed an impressive turn of foot to win in impressive fashion at Newcastle on Saturday in the Class 1 1200m.

After plenty of wet tracks in Sydney, Quantico finally found a dry track to show what he has to offer going forward. It was never going to be easy from barrier 11, but Tom Sherry settled him right back and had him nicely settled. The pace on speed was solid and turning for him he swung out and it was quickly over as he went on the score by a margin of 2.87 lengths.

Quantico is a colt who has always shown us he has the potential to turn into a smart performer and this further enhanced this. He will likely head to Randwick on the 4/07 in the 2&3yo BM72 1300m, however a dry track looks the key to him.

Well done to his owners China Horse Club Racing Pty Ltd, J E Abrahams Pty Ltd, Segenhoe Thoroughbreds Australia Pty Ltd, Werrett Bloodstock Pty Ltd, Yarraman Park Stud, Mr A D Paradice, Bill Duncan Bloodstock Pty Ltd, Mr H J Mitchell, Mr R B Gold
